Terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Appstyx SRLS, Via San Morese 9, 50019 Sesto Fiorentino (FI), Italy, P.IVA 06456860489 ("we"), for using ELI5 bot. By installing the GitHub App or buying a plan, you accept them for yourself and for the GitHub account you install it on. Questions: [email protected].
What ELI5 bot does
ELI5 bot is a GitHub App. On the repositories you give it, it reads each pull request and writes one comment explaining what the change does, in plain words. Each explanation is a run.
Runs, the trial and plans
- A run is one explanation of a pull request, or of new commits on it. A run that fails, or that finds nothing new to explain, doesn't count.
- The trial: the first time an account installs the app, it gets 3 runs to use within 14 days, without a card.
- Plans are monthly and give a number of runs each month. Runs left at the end of a month don't carry over. Solo is for personal GitHub accounts only.
- Top-ups add runs that last 12 months. A plan's runs are used before top-up runs.
- When an account has no runs left, new pull requests wait until it has some again.
Paying
Plans and top-ups are sold by Link, Stripe's checkout, as the seller. Your purchase, its payment, receipts, invoices and refunds are also covered by Link's terms, which you accept at checkout. Prices are shown before you pay and exclude VAT, which is added where it applies.
- A plan renews every month until it's cancelled, and is charged at the start of each month.
- Upgrading takes effect right away: you pay the difference for the rest of the month and get the extra runs at once. Downgrading takes effect at the next renewal.
- You can cancel at any time from the plan's page. The plan and its runs stay until the end of the month already paid for; we don't refund the rest of a month, except where the law requires it.
- Removing the app from GitHub cancels the plan the same way.
- If a payment fails, the plan may be paused until it's paid.
Your code and the explanations
Your code stays yours. You allow us to read the pull requests on the repositories you give the app, and what they link to, only to write their explanations, as the privacy policy describes. You must have the right to give the app that access.
Explanations are written by AI models and can be incomplete or wrong. They help a person review a change; they don't replace that review, and you remain responsible for what you merge.
Using it fairly
Don't use ELI5 bot to break the law, to get around its runs or limits (for example by installing it on many accounts for their trials), to attack or overload the service, or to resell it without our agreement. We can suspend an account that does, after telling you why when we can.
Availability and changes
We work to keep ELI5 bot running, but don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and it depends on GitHub, Stripe, Railway and OpenRouter. We may change or stop features. If we stop the service, we'll tell you at least 30 days before and refund runs you paid for and couldn't use.
We may change these terms. We'll announce changes here at least 30 days before they apply to you; if you don't accept them, you can cancel before then.
Responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or data, or for decisions made on an explanation, and our total responsibility for anything related to ELI5 bot is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can stop at any time by removing the app from GitHub and cancelling the plan. We can end these terms for an account that seriously breaks them. What we keep afterwards, and for how long, is in the privacy policy.
Law
These terms are governed by Italian law, and the courts of Florence decide any dispute. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the law and courts of the country where you live.
